Our Process

To kick things off, we get to know you, your budget, the user, and the site or existing building to understand the goals and identify the challenges (and opportunities) of your project.

Here, we begin to arrange the space, defining shapes and sizes and creating schemes and renderings. We’ll collaborate with you, your users, and consultants to explore all the options that can take us from concept to reality.

Next, we refine and compile our ideas and schemes into buildable construction documents, (drawings, specs, energy code forms, calculations, reports, etc.), prior to permitting and bidding.

During this stage, we answer questions from contractors while helping you to evaluate bids, select a contractor, and obtain the needed permits.

Finally, permits have been issued and we can put a shovel in the ground. We review product submittals and evaluate substitution requests, collaborate with contractors to ensure quality, and help you navigate the construction process.

Once construction is complete, it’s time to celebrate! Then, before we wrap things up, we’ll conduct post-occupancy evaluations or interviews to document feedback. Our processes are the result of these valuable observations gathered over decades—built on a culture of continual improvement.
